I did buy a arrow and a line.
For aim, I know about refraction of light...
But, how do you regulate your sight?

Usually at witch distance do you shoot?

I don't use a sight. It get's in the way. I just look down the arrow and aim low. I use a release and others, like Nate, shoot fingers. I have never shot fingers, so that is why I don't. I have a whole set up just for bowfishing as it gets kinda messy. Don't want my hunting bow all slimed!!!!!! Hope this helps!!!

Oh, and I try not to shoot further than 15 yards if possible. Closer the better. Easier to do with carp than tilapias I'm finding out!!!!!!

I found out that there's nothing better than a little blood on the line! Hehe!

Yes, you'll want to get a bow, lower poundage - 40-50 pounds, and have your bowfishing reel, arrow, etc setup on it so you don't have to take it on and off and Deb's right there are certain elements left out of the loop of your normal hunting bow if you ask me, like water, scales, fish slime, fish oil, water etc. I shoot fingers but I found out that I need to use a batters/golfer's glove. The fish teeth can start to where your thumb out as well as pulling back the string.

Michelle, I tell folks to put out some soda bottles in their yard at various distances and practice shooting without sights on there bowfishing rigs. As for shooting in the water, most shots are realatively shallow but you do want to shoot lower than normal. I like to make sure the target is in the sight window and then put the tip of the arrow under the target. This usually works well for me.
