Post Midwest Coyote Calling Contest
My coyote hunting partner and I are entered up in the Midwest Coyote Calling Contest in St. Francis, Kansas. It will be the 9th and 10th of January. This contest is one of the top three predator hunts in the nation. All of the heavy hitters in the coyote hunting in the nation will be there. It will be AWESOME if we could make a good showing at this contest. :Bananas: :Bananas: :Bananas: :Bananas:

It is going to be a blast. I have been chomping at the bit to get on the road and it is still a month away. I can't wait to finally meet the new friend Arron and I have made up there in the frozen north. :yahoo: :yahoo:

I'm feeling a little rusty. I need some practice on my shooting. We need to hit the woods soon.

Hello
I just found this sight this morning. My cousin and are in this hunt also this weekend. We only live about 45 minutes from St Francis across the Colorado line. I tell you what with a few other local contest it has been really hard to stay out of our honey holes over the past 3 months. I will keep an eye out for you always interested in meeting new people in the sport.

I emailed you Arrons contact info. Get a hold of him and Jesse and meet up! They'd love to meet ya! They are good friends to have - hearts of gold and great hunters - especially with the yotes. The three of us are also on our local Ducks Unlimited Comittee. Those guys, like nearly all of us on Just-Hunt, are just one-with-the-outdoors. Hard to explain it any other way.

Good luck to you as well! We'd love to see you do well just as much as Arron! Go get 'em!

We are in St. Francis now. It is about 15 degree right now with about 30 to 40 mph winds. I will post a bunch of pic when I get back. It is beautiful up here.

We only killed two coyotes today, that was all we call up. I am hearing that it has been hard on a lot of others also. We will be back at it at daylight tomorrow!

I am back home now. We only had the two coyotes that we killed on Saturday, but it was a great experience. I am grateful that we made it up there and back safely. The calling was tough but we didn't get skunked and I am real proud of that! I will put up pics in a few days.

Hey everyone this weekends hunt was a great time even though the coyotes won. My partner and I killed 3 missed 4 more and seen 16. It was really great to meet Arron, Jesse, and yoteslammer. I can't wait to see the pics Arron as I didn't take any but I will throw out some numbers so that you all can get a grasp of how big this tourney is. The pro class had 88 teams and the sportsmans class had 55 for a total of 143. They were 7 teams short on the pro class of the 150 team limit. 138 teams returned sunday night for check in. 8 coyotes won the sportsmans class and 19 coyotes won the pro class. There was a total of 1162 coyotes seen and 413 coyotes killed. The total weight of all coyotes killed was over 8600lbs. That is a lot of yotes.

Its a bummer that we didn't get any when you came up even though we seen three. Glad to hear that Kansas did turn out for yeah guys. Two yotes are better than none. I guarantee that the thunder chicken hunts will be a more productive hunt. Glad to see that you made it home safely.

For everyone to know these two are the best coyote calling maniacs that I have ever met.
