Re: BBQ sauces & simmer Beef on Tex-Mex way?
Here is a good BBQ Sauce recipe:
2 cups Ketchup 2 Tbsp Molasses 3 tsp Worcestershire sauce 2 Tbsp Lemon juice, fresh-squeezed 1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce 3/8 cup Brown sugar, dark 1/2 tsp Cayenne cowder 2 Cloves fresh Garlic coarsely minced (adds texture) 1 Tbsp Black Pepper, coarsely ground 1) In a small sauce pan add the ketchup, molasses, worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and tabasco. 2) Add the brown sugar and cayenne powder to taste (see note below). 3) Bring up to boil and reduce to simmer until all ingredients are dissolved/combined. 4) Finally, add garlic and black pepper and simmer for 15 minutes to combine.
Note:] The recipe, as printed, has quite a bit of bite, but very good flavor. I recommend making your first batch exactly to the recipe and see what your family/friends think. This gives a good reference point and allows you to modify the brown sugar, tabasco and cayenne to suit your tastes. ~~~Makes about a pint and a half of sauce. Serve warm and expect to be worshipped! This sauce has a great, unique flavor that goes with pretty much anything.
